MANAJEMEN ZAKAT UNTUK PROGRAM POVERTY ALLEVIATION DI INDONESIA DAN BRUNEI DARUSSALAM

Abstrak

Penghimpunan dan pendistribusian potensi zakat sebagai instrumen pengentasan kemiskinan (poverty alleviation) selama bertahun-tahun cukup banyak dikaji dalam literatur ekonomi Islam. Bahkan, zakat adalah salah satu instrumen awal keuangan publik Islam. Secara praktis, pengelolaan zakat masih memerlukan manajemen untuk mengentaskan kemiskinan pada berbagai negara, khususnya di Indonesia dan Brunei Darussalam. Kajian ini menemukan adanya keunikan pada pengelolaan zakat untuk program pengentasan kemiskinan sebagai agenda utama dalam pengelolaan zakat di Indonesia dan Brunei Darussalam. Manajemen zakat yang diterapkan pada kedua negara ini mampu mengurangi tingkat kemiskinan masyarakat.

Abstract

The collection and distribution of zakat as an instrument for poverty reduction (Poverty Alleviation) over the years pretty much studied in the economic literature, Islam. In fact, zakat is one of the earliest instruments of public finances Islam. In practical terms, the management of zakat still requires management to alleviate poverty in many countries, especially in Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam. This study found their uniqueness in zakat management for poverty alleviation programs as the main agenda in the management of zakat in Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam. Zakat management is applied to both these countries were able to reduce the level of poverty.
