The NSW premier has been quizzed in parliament about why she met with two hoteliers - who are convicted criminals - to discuss "gaming issues".

Opposition leader Luke Foley on Thursday asked Gladys Berejiklian during question time to explain her late October 2017 meeting with Gino Scutti and Nick Tinning.

Mr Scutti was convicted of burning down a hotel he owned in Carrathool to obtain financial advantage in 2013, Mr Foley told parliament.

Mr Tinning was found guilty of illegally possessing poker machines and fined in April 2017.

Liquor and Gaming NSW inspectors found five poker machines at Mr Tinnings residential property, according to a government press release from April last year.

Ms Berejiklian revealed she'd meet with Mr Scutti and Mr Tinning in her parliamentary "disclosure summary". She met them alongside Wagga Wagga MP Daryl Maguire and another man.

"Can you advise the house why did you meet with them and what did you discuss," Mr Foley asked.

Ms Berejiklian told the chamber she did not recall meeting the group or what was discussed.

"But obviously if I disclosed it, I met with them, and I'll get back to the house with any finer details."

A few minutes later, when questioned agen casino online again by Labor, Ms Berejiklian said she had met the group on a trip to the state's Riverina region.

"I met with people I'd not met before. They raised with me concerns about country hotel leasers and they felt they'd been disadvantaged by amendments to the relevant act made by the previous Labor government," the premier said.

Shadow attorney-general Paul Lynch demanded Ms Berejiklian outline whether she knew the pair were convicted criminals before she agreed to meet them.

"What we are still in the dark about is whether the premier knew the backgrounds of the individuals with whom she was meeting," Mr Lynch said in a statement.

"It is concerning that the premier doesn't do her homework and due diligence and that she is quite happy to meet people without proper checks."
