Abstract
Comparison of Occurrence Frequency of Standard and Nonstandard Forms of Corpus-Based Indonesian Language
This study aims to describe the frequency of occurrence of standard forms and nonstandard forms in the corpus. The Indonesian 2023 LCC corpus is found on the website https://cqpweb.lancs.ac.uk/. This corpus includes various texts from 2008 to 2022. The data compared in this study consisted of 12 categories, which in total consisted of 150 forms. The data was analyzed by comparing the frequency rate between standard and nonstandard forms. The results revealed that the use of standard forms in the corpus was more than the nonstandard forms, 76.46% versus 23.44%. It was also found that the number of nonstandard forms is more than the standard forms in certain categories, and redundant forms are still used. It is necessary to take strategic measures to decrease the use of nonstandard forms by Indonesian speakers.
