The Application of Tajwid in the Transliteration of the Mushaf Al-Qur'an: An Analytical Study of the Varieties of Transliteration of the Mushaf Al-Qur'an in Indonesia

Abstract

Allah commands Muslims to read the Qur'an with tartil according to the rules of recitation. The problem now is the writing of the Qur'an using Arabic letters. Arabic-Latin transliteration answers this question. It is hoped that the Arabic-Latin transliteration can help in reading the Qur'an properly and correctly, especially for beginners. Over time, manuscript publishers tried to provide more content or by printing the manuscripts specifically with transliteration. In the context of uniformity, the Government is here to formulate the standardization of "Arab-Latin Transliteration Guidelines" in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, number 158 of 1987. The method of discussion used in this study uses library research, explorative, descriptive, analytical and comparative. The results of this study indicate that the publishers of transliteration manuscripts provide transliteration with the same method and technical writing. The three manuscripts studied were the 2015 Al-Qur'a>n Al-Hadi Latin Mushaf, the 2015 Al-Qur'a>n Tajweed Mushaf Color Transliteration Per Verse Translated by Verse (Almunawwar) 2015 and the 2015 Al-Qur'a>n Transliteration Mushaf. Words and Translation Per Word (At-Tayyib) 2011 in this study have similarities in terms of using the 1987 Arabic-Latin transliteration guidelines. For example, single consonants in Arabic and Latin letters, short vowels A, I, U, long vowels A>, I>, U>, the article in the readings of Ali>f La>m Qomariyah and Syamsiyah, and the readings of Iqlab, Izhar, Ikhfa and Gunnah.
